To Tender Meat:

  1. In a pressure cooker, add beef meat, salt per taste, water, close the pressure cooker and cook for 4 whistles (on high heat till the first whistle and on medium for next three) or for 30-40 minutes.
  2. After that, allow the pressure to subside completely.

To Boil Rice:

  1. In a heavy bottom pan; add water, oil, salt, and cook & cover until the water boils on high heat.
  2. Once the water starts boiling; add the soaked rice & stir it well.
  3. Continue to boil it on high heat, stirring few times gently to not break the rice.
  4. After around 9-10 minutes when the rice is almost done (90%) remove it from heat and strain the water. Set it aside.

To Make Beef Gravy:

  1. In a cooking pot, add oil, onion, and fry until golden brown on medium heat.
  2. Next, add tender beef meat, ginger-garlic paste, and fry until meat changes color.
  3. Add tomatoes, green chilies, chopped coriander, and mix well for 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, add yogurt, biryani masala, and mix well. Add the mixture to the gravy and cook until oil separates and sets aside.

For Assembling:

  1. In a separate pot; add half the boiled rice as the first layer and then spread the layer of beef gravy on top of the rice uniformly. Spread the remaining boiled rice and beef gravy.
  2. In water, add the food color and mix well. Drizzle over biryani.
  3. Drizzle lemon juice on the top, cover, and steam cook for 8-10 minutes (once you open the lid, mix the meat and rice evenly).
